Shake Shack is headed to the Lone Star State, rolling out a “pop-up” food truck in collaboration with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” The co-branded, temporary food truck will operate during the 2014 South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, Texas.

From Saturday, March 8th, through Friday, March 14th, the special edition food truck will serve up complimentary ShackBurgers, fresh-cut fries, and bottled water to SXSW attendees nightly from 8PM–1AM.

For the first three nights, March 8th–10th, the food truck will be parked at the intersection of 6th Street and Red River Street. It will then relocate to 907 East 6th Street between Brushy Street and San Marcos Street from March 11th–14th.

The opportunity to team up with NBC to bring Shake Shack’s beloved burgers to SXSW via a temporary food truck will give Austinites a taste of what’s to come, as Shake Shack prepares to open its first-ever locations in Texas.

The first Austin Shack, announced this past October and slated for a late 2014 opening, will be located on the corner of South Lamar and Treadwell in the neighborhood’s new Lamar Union retail and residential development, neighboring the original Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

And here’s something to hang your hat on – the acclaimed modern day “roadside” burger stand will follow up its Lamar Union opening with a second Austin Shack in early 2015 in the heart of the city’s bustling shopping center and mixed-use development, The Domain. Situated in Austin’s northwest corridor, the beautiful park-like setting harkens back to Shake Shack’s roots as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park.

Both Austin locations will serve all the Shack favorites such as 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, flat-top dogs, hand-cut fries, fresh-made frozen custard, craft beer and wine, and much more.

In keeping with Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good, both Austin Shacks will be constructed with recycled and sustainable materials and feature energy-efficient kitchen equipment and lighting. Chairs and booths will be made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, and tabletops will be handcrafted from reclaimed bowling alley lanes.
